Think your a bit wrong there Evilsod,

It's clear you're not interested in the pre-searing area, nor the LDoA title. That's fine. But you also are giving points that the delvelopers DO care about pre-searing.

The Charr bag addition alone was beautiful. Instantly, the the glitched-in post-searing bags in pre went from an asking price of 300K to 2.5K (the price of a charr bag). One last item needed to make it a fair environment for everyone.

Thanks for your comments.

To the OP: Very calm and rational the way you handled that, and I applaud you. But to tell you the truth, those responses from GM's were still just "form letters" (in effect, auto-responses). I've seen the same exact blah blah blah, etc. when sending in tickets myself.

I do wish you luck in your fight however, just don't expect too much, ok?

It is about time this issue was brought up. I'm tired of seeing these few but elite "barons" that have a stranglehold on the salvage kit market all because of that guild hall exploit. 75k pre money or 250k post money for one salvage use, absolutely ridiculous!

If allowing the merchant to sell expert salvage kits is too painful, then how about a Charr's Salvage Kit that would drop from those bosses? Anet gave us the Charr Bags and that shut down one of the hall exploits. Regular bags in pre were being sold for 600K+ prior to Charr Bags, if anyone else can recall.

Charr Bags were introduced to help people get that LDoA title, how about taking it one step further and give us expert salvage kits?

Shut the pre black market down!

Before that they have re-enabled deathlevelling (it was nerfed for a while). The title came somewhat after deathlevelling been around a little (iirc!). And frankly, I think most of us know by now that it can take up to a year or so before a change is made...some changes will possibly never be made! (like auction house)
Some changes are actually implemented quicker and better then I expected them to be.

Btw I hope you won't be right about this getting resolved no sooner then at the sart of GW2 lol!

Thanks.

I realize that this is the best avenue for getting the attention the Support Ticket will need. Otherwise it will never receive genuine consideration from the developers. What matters is the voice of the community. Postive or Negative, both are needed.

I'm also putting myself out there for scrutiny. I have collected salvaged runes, weapons, and mods in pre-searing that come from the guild hall glitch. I had to purchase them from those that cheated the game. I have them now. All I want is everyone to have the same chance without the extortion.

There's such a simple solution. Maybe that's why I'm finally giving it a sincere effort.

To be honest I never knew this problem even exsisted I guess I don't understand how a Superior Rune of Anything is really that important to have in Pre-sear where all the monsters (except Charr) are really really low levels. I understand your point on the whole guild hall-exploit thing though. Anet should have been able to scan the servers after the exploit and deleted all those items that got in, kind of like the Rust Storms of Diablo 2 if you ever played that game. Honestly, I don't see how adding Salvage Kits to pre would really have a negative effect against those who play the game fairly and go on to Post Sear. Seems like it would only hurt those exploiters (if I am understanding the situation correctly). If that is the case then I say..

Thanks Beanerman,

You're a great validation to my efforts. I'm glad somebody that wasn't aware of the condition in pre-searing, is now.

You're absolutely right. The only ones that would oppose the addition of expert salvage kits to the pre-searing merchant, would be those that cheated the game.

Most people buzz through pre as fast as they can. The people that hang out there working on the LDOA represent a very small percentage of players and it is a one-way door, once you leave you can never go back.

I don't think you can hold pre-searing to the same standard as the rest of the game for fairness as it would like saying the economy of a country is the same as the economy of some island where they trade fish for coconuts and wait to see if anything washes up on the beach. Something washed up on the beach in Pre-searing a long time ago and most people just don't care.

BTW, I have a char in pre at level 17 that is going for the title, and I spend zero time anymore interacting with anyone there. I go in, death level, and as soon as I hit level 20 I am out of there.

Before we go anywhere, please let me clarify something.

People used the GH exploit to bring in stuff into Pre-Searing, including Expert Salvage Kits.

Now, it's clear to everyone that the supply for this thing is very limited, right? (And since the superior salvage kit wasn't available back then, the amount of this thing would be limited to....like...25 uses per storage slot.)

If everything is left as it is now, the low supply of expert salvage kits is going to run out. Then, nobody will have access to it ever again.

Isn't that the end to this whole "Market"? I'd say so. And once that happens, pre-searing will return to the state it's supposed to be; A VERY BRIEF TUTORIAL WITH ADDED BONUS TITLE.

Cacheelma:

There's folks with inventories filled with superior slavage kits, that's 100 uses per slot. The market will not "dry up" anytime soon. It will go back to 300K + per salvage.

If the developers didn't care about the perm-pre there would be no charr bags (or title). I would like to see this come full circle we already have part of the equation. Let people salvage the runes, and mods they find without being taken advantage of. How is that unreasonable?

If all they wanted was a "breif tutorial, with added bonus", there would be no concern. What you may or may not agree with, is the fact that pre-searing has been evolving from it's original intention for a very long time. With the blessing of the developers, and a sub culture of players that want to keep a charcter in pre-searing.

Totally invalid point WTF,

Care to explain how your example is relevent? How is asking to be treated fairly, and as an equal related to an event reward item?

This is a question of giving all the players the same access to in game items, and to correct in imbalanced biased market.

Nice job so far dealing with support Firebaall, I've already made myself clear on how I feal about this in my thread here, http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10161159

It's not a matter of presearing being a tutorial, it's the simple fact that a good number of people choose to play that part of the game as they see fit, A right everyone who bought GW should have in any area of the game. This isn't really even adding anything new to pre, the abuility to do these thiungs already exists for some ppl, it's just a request to make things equal for all.

I hate these slippery slope arguments. A leads to B, B is bad, therefore A is bad...but guess what? You need to justify how A will lead to B, otherwise the argument is not valid.

If you take any balanced scale - any fair solution - and skew it heavily out of balance, push it to an extreme, you end up with an unfair solution. By this kind of slippery slope reasoning, there is no such thing as a fair answer - because, in other circumstances, a different, unfair answer would have different, unfair results. And if that sounds like a really bad reason to prohibit a fair solution...that's because it is.

the selling of salvaged runes etc in pre has always annoyed me as well when most dont have access to kits except a few who are gouging everyone else

I'm a bit indifferent to this situation as I don't really play in Pre-Searing too much. However, there is a legitimate point. It's not fair that people are making so much money on something due to an exploit, while most legit farmers are struggling now with a horrible "post-searing" economy. I don't really know if it would make a difference if A-Net took action, seeing as how it looks like the damage has already been done. After all, those people have already made a killing off of this exploit.
